  • Elementary School Redistricting Plan Public Meetings

The redistricting plan proposal for Booth Hill, Elizabeth Shelton, Long Hill, Mohegan, and Sunnyside elementary schools was adopted by the Shelton Board of Education at their meeting on Wednesday, April 24, 2019. Please see attached PDF "new" school zone map which outlines all elementary school districts and lists school zones by street and lot.  Note that PDF map can be enlarged to determine street names and lot positions.

All elementary school families that were directly affected by redistricting have been contacted by their current school with a transition plan for their students.

Principal's Message

Perry Hill School is set up in dyads. Our teaching model is based on teams of two teachers working with about 50 students. This model promotes the creation of smaller learning communities that supports meeting the individual needs of each child through the use of best practices such as differentiated instruction, response to intervention and positive behavioral support. One teacher teaches Reading and Writing,  and one teacher teaches Math and Science. The homeroom teacher teaches Social Studies.  Perry Hill's academic support center services the needs of all students.

In addition, students are actively involved in exploring enhanced curricula in Art, Music, Physical Education, and Health. They are also exposed to units in STEM(Science, Technology, engineering, and Math).  Enrichment and club activities are also offered to round out a comprehensive approach to education of the upper elementary student.
